A London Boat Rentals Duffy cruising past palm trees and rocks on Alamitos Bay in Long Beach

Belmont Shore Boat Rental

Belmont Shore runs east to Alamitos Bay and Naples, and our dock is a short drive further along 2nd Street at Alamitos Bay Landing. If you live in the Shore or are visiting for the day, a Duffy is the easiest way onto the water nearby.

How close is Belmont Shore to the boats?

Close. Belmont Shore stretches from Bluff Park in the west to Alamitos Bay and Naples in the east, and its business district is 2nd Street. Follow 2nd Street east through Naples toward Pacific Coast Highway, and Alamitos Bay Landing sits on Marina Drive by Alamitos Bay Marina. The contact page has the exact address and a map.

Parking at the landing is free and on site, a few steps from the boats.

What can you see from the water near Belmont Shore?

The Shore’s eastern edge meets the bay at Alamitos Bay Beach, an inland beach that faces Naples across a channel. From a Duffy you see the neighborhood from the other side: the beach, the homes along the bay, and Naples, which you can cruise through when the tide allows. The Naples Canals guide covers the route through the islands, and Alamitos Bay covers the rest of the water.

Our boats stay inside the bay. The Shore’s south-facing ocean beach lies outside, behind the federal breakwater.

Why rent a Duffy instead of walking 2nd Street?

You can do both. A Duffy is a different kind of afternoon: your own enclosed boat for up to 12 people, at 5 mph, with nobody else aboard. You drive, and no experience is needed. Afterward, 2nd Street’s shops and restaurants are a short drive back.

Who is a Duffy for?

Locals with visitors to entertain, birthday groups, couples planning a date night, and dog owners: dogs are welcome aboard with their own life vest. See bringing your dog and the birthday guide.

What should you bring?

Food, a cooler and your own beer and wine are all welcome; ice is $7 a bag in the boat shop. Bring a layer for the evening and a blanket in winter. The rules and packing list has the full list.

When should you go?

Any day the calendar has a time you like. Late afternoon brings warm light over the bay, and the sunset times by month help you time it. If you want the Naples Canals, check the tides first. In December, the Naples holiday lights are a short cruise from the dock.

Which other areas do we serve?

Belmont Shore is not the only neighborhood within easy reach. Seal Beach is just across the river from the bay, and Lakewood, Signal Hill, Cerritos, Downey and Torrance are all within driving distance. Wherever you start, set your map to 186 N Marina Dr #4601, Long Beach, CA 90803, and leave time to arrive 30 minutes before your boat goes out.

How is the bay side different from the ocean side?

Belmont Shore has two waterfronts. To the south, its ocean beach lies just inside the federal breakwater, so there is very little surf, and the water offshore is popular with kitesurfers, kayakers and boaters. To the east, Alamitos Bay Beach faces Naples across a channel, and in summer the stretch of Bay Shore Avenue south of 2nd Street closes to cars and becomes a pedestrian and bike zone.

A Duffy belongs to the bay side. The water is sheltered, the boats move at 5 mph, and the route takes you past the same homes and beach you see from the shore.

How do you plan a Belmont Shore day around a cruise?

Start or finish on 2nd Street. A late-morning cruise, then lunch in the Shore, works well with kids. A late-afternoon cruise, then dinner on 2nd Street, works well for a date or a group of friends. Either way, you park once at the landing for the boat, then drive the short distance back west.

What does it cost?

$125 for one hour or $250 for two, per boat of up to 12 guests. Parking is free. See prices and the complete guide to renting a Duffy in Long Beach.
