Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to every boat rental booked with London Boat Rentals. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. If anything is unclear, call (562) 598-2628 before you book.
1. Who we are
London Boat Rentals rents self-drive Duffy electric boats from Alamitos Bay Landing, 186 N Marina Dr #4601, Long Beach, CA 90803. You can reach us at (562) 598-2628. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean London Boat Rentals, and “you” means the person who books the rental and everyone in that person’s party.
2. Booking and payment
Rentals are booked and paid for through Peek, our booking system. Before you pay, Peek’s checkout shows the date, the start time, the length of the rental, the number of boats and the price.
Prices are per boat, not per person: $125 for one hour and $250 for two hours, for up to 12 guests. Every booking shows “1 adult” because Peek books by the boat; the number of boats you book is the number of boats you get. A booking is confirmed when Peek confirms it.
3. All sales are final
All sales are final. If weather closes the bay, we move your rental to another day. “Weather” means conditions such as strong wind or heavy rain that make the bay unsafe for our boats, and our staff make that decision on the day. If you cannot make your booking for any other reason, call (562) 598-2628 as early as you can.
4. Who may rent and drive
The person who books the rental and the person who drives the boat must both be 21 or older. The person who books is responsible for their party following these terms. No boating experience is required, but the driver must follow the Dock Master’s instructions and tutorial.
5. Guests per boat
A boat may carry no more than 12 people, and children and babies count toward that number. We will not launch a boat carrying more than 12 people.
6. Safety and life jackets
Adult life jackets are aboard every boat. Every child under 12 must wear a life vest for the entire rental; our front office provides children’s and infant vests. Infants in a car seat or baby carrier are not required to wear a vest, but we provide one. We do not provide life vests for pets.
Stay within the areas shown on the map you receive at the dock, and follow any instruction from our staff. Access to the Naples Canals depends on the tide. When the tide is too high for the canals, the rest of the bay remains open, including around Naples Island, into Jellyfish Cove, Spinnaker Bay, Marina Pacifica and Mother’s Beach.
7. Alcohol
You may bring your own beer and wine. Anyone drinking must be 21 or older. Under California law, the person driving a boat must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and we may end a rental if a driver is.
8. Pets
Dogs are welcome aboard. You are responsible for your dog’s safety and behavior, and for bringing your dog’s own life vest.
9. Arrival and return
Arrive 30 minutes before your start time with your whole party. Your rental ends at the end time shown on your booking; return the boat to our dock by then.
10. Damage
You are responsible for the boat and its equipment during your rental. A $100 damage charge applies to damage caused during your rental, as set out in the booking terms on Peek.
11. Personal belongings
We are not responsible for personal belongings left on a boat or at the dock. If you lose something, call (562) 598-2628 with a description, and we will contact you if we find it.
12. Gift cards
Gift cards are sold and redeemed through Peek and are subject to the terms shown at purchase.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you book is the version that applies to your booking. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
