The Fleet
22 boats, one model: a 21-foot electric Duffy, fully enclosed, for up to 12 guests. Every boat in the fleet is the same, so the boat in the photos is the boat you drive.

Why does an enclosed boat matter?
Because the water is not the parking lot. On a warm afternoon you want shade and air; after sunset, or on a gray winter day, you want to stay warm. A fully enclosed Duffy does both. The roof keeps the sun off for the whole trip. The windows go up when you want a breeze through the cabin and stay down when you want to hold the warmth in. In winter, bring a blanket or two and the cabin stays comfortable.
It also means a cloudy day is still a good day to go.
What is on board?
- Room for up to 12 people around the cabin, with space for coolers, food and a cake.
- Adult life jackets on every boat. Children’s and infant vests come from the front office, and every child under 12 wears one.
- A wheel and simple controls. The Dock Master shows you both before you take over.
- A map of the sights, handed over with the keys.
Bring the rest yourself: food, a cooler, your own beer and wine, blankets in winter, and your dog’s life vest if your dog is coming. The rules and packing list has the full checklist.
What is it like to drive?
Very similar to driving a golf cart. You steer with a wheel, the top speed is 5 mph, and the bay is calm water inside the jetties. The Dock Master takes your boat out to the end of the dock, then hands you the keys with a quick tutorial. From there, you are the captain.
The driver must be 21 or older, and so must the person who rents the boat. Nobody needs boating experience. If you have never driven a boat, a Duffy at 5 mph is a forgiving place to start: there is time to think about every turn.
Why are all 22 boats the same?
Because a group should not have to argue about who got the better boat. When a party books three boats for a birthday or a team outing, all three are identical, so everyone gets the same cabin, the same view and the same ride. It also keeps booking simple: you choose a time and a number of boats, not a model. The team outings page explains how a group can spread across several boats.
Is an electric boat quiet?
Yes. There is no engine noise and no exhaust, so you can talk across the cabin at a normal volume and hear the water against the hull. That is a large part of why a Duffy works for a proposal, a date night or a slow sunset: the boat stays out of the conversation.
Can I see more of the boats?
The photo gallery has the fleet at the dock, the cabin, the helm and the boats out on the bay, all taken at London Boat Rentals.
Where do the boats leave from?
From our dock at Alamitos Bay Landing, 186 N Marina Dr #4601, Long Beach, CA 90803, on Alamitos Bay next to Naples. Parking is free and on site. Arrive 30 minutes before your start time with your whole party. The contact page has the map and directions, and Alamitos Bay and the Naples Canals describe where the boats go.
How much does a boat cost?
$125 for one hour or $250 for two, per boat, for up to 12 guests. The pricing page has the planner for bigger groups.
